Getting Customers with the Right Message
As discussed, you get customers when they come to know, like, and trust you. But, how exactly do you get them to engage with you?
The Message
Customers will engage with you through your messaging. Your message is the main idea you want to communicate to the world about your business. It should focus on why your customer will want your product or service and the benefit it offers.
ASK YOURSELF:
- Why would someone care?
- What about my product or service would spark his/her interest?
- What does a customer need to know? What’s most important?
- What sets me apart from my competitors? Why would he/she choose me over someone else?
- How will my message make my customer like and trust me?
Your message is one way you communicate your brand. As such, messaging should always be used consistently, communicating the same information even if in different ways. Just like mixed signals can ruin a person relationship, mixed messages to your customer can ruin a business relationship.
