Another way to get the word out about your product or service is to give it away for free. For some businesses, this may mean fiving away samples or providing services to a select few to create those much needed “evangelists.” For others, it may mean giving away a lower level of your product for free, engaging customers at a basic level and enticing them to pay for more in-depth offerings. Weigh the value of giving things away and don’t give away so much that it adversely affects your business. You can create a spreadsheet to determine how much it would cost to give away your products. If you don’t have a large marketing budget but you do have inventory, you may be able to justify this strategy.
